Las Vegas spree: Top luxury experiences in the Sin City

Posted by SaC on 1st December 2011

A Las Vegas holiday is not all about gambling. Going to the Sin City is also about extravagance, the excess, and the pleasure. Here are some of the top Las Vegas luxury picks that you might want to try:

Relax in world class spas

The Strip is home to a good number of opulent spa oases. You can let go of all the stresses with a mad mask of chai-tea, herbal bath, or a lomilomi massage. You also have options to go to a salt cave, Turkish hammam, or a redwood sauna. After enjoying a massage, you can hang out in an arctic room complete with artificial snow drizzling down on you. You might also go for something romantic and enjoy the spa side by side your partner or be more adventurous and head to the desert lakes or rock canyon before and enjoy spa outdoors.

Enjoy the best dishes from around the globe

Las Vegas is also a melting pot of all the flavors that you can find from all the corners of the globe. You can find dining rooms serving French, chill-spiced kitchen from the southwest, or Japanese gastropubs. If you are too lazy to hop from one place to another for good food, then just go to the Mandalay Bay and book at table at Fleur. It is a fusion menu that will pleasure anyone’s palate with wagyu beef from Japan, Russian caviar, Atlantic halibut or Iberico ham prepared skillfully on small plates. You can get a cabana to make the dining experience more private for you and your friends.

Drive and shop like a high roller

Name your ride and you can get it in Vegas. You can be a head turner as you cruise along the strip behind the wheels of an Italian sports car or other exotic cars that knows how to burn a big hole on any bank account. You can also go on a party limo and have a time of your life with your friends. You want some real bling? Drop by Fred Leighton where most jewelry adorning Hollywood stars come from during the Academy Awards. You might be able to try a piece or two from their prestigious collection of adornments.

Hire a chopper and explore the Grand Canyon

There is no better way to discover the beauty of the Grand Canyon than from your own helicopter ride. From Las Vegas, your chopper can take you by the Hoover Dam then thru the west rim of the Grand Canyon. You can land on a scenic spot overviewing the Colorado River and there you can pop a bottle of champagne and toast to a good life.

The Ethel Chocolate Factory and Gardens

Posted by SaC on 1st September 2011

The Ethel Chocolate Factory and Gardens, also known as Ethel M., was actually founded by the man behind the Mars Candy Company, Forrest Mars, Sr. A chocolatey hideaway in Las Vegas, it was originally intended as a place where chocolates could be made in a way which were reminiscent of the way Mr. Mars’ mother, Ethel, made them.

The Ethel Chocolate Factory and GardensToday, the factory is a museum as well. By looking through the factory’s large glass windows, you can see what is going on inside – and of course you can take the tour as well. First on the tour route, visitors get to see the kitchen. It is there that all the delicious centers and fillings for the candy get cooked. You might see pecan or peanut brittle being made, or any number of other delicacies. Given the fact that more than fifty different, tantalizing types of chocolates are made at the Ethel M. factory, you never know what you might see.

The second room of the Ethel Chocolate Factory and Gardens tour is the room wherein all the candies receive their chocolate coating. You will learn all about enrobers and get to see all kinds of feelings receive their decadent chocolate coating. You may even see the candies get specially molded.

Of course, on certain legs of the tour, you can also look forward to getting samples of whatever is being made, from almond clusters to Ethel M’s famous liqueur filled chocolate candies.

The Nevada Zoological and Botanical Park

Posted by SaC on 22nd August 2011

If you have ever doubted that dear old adage about how enormous, fantastical things can come in the smallest of packages, then you have obviously never paid a visit to the Nevada Zoological and Botanical Park. Although it looks small when you approach it, the garden and zoo spans across an amazing three acres. The botanical and zoological wonder, which is located right down from Texas Station, on Rancho Drive, contains greater than 200 different species of animals and plants.

Nevada Zoological and Botanical ParkWhat the Nevada Zoological and Botanical Park lacks in numbers, it makes up for in exotic and rare intrigue. For instance, insofar as animals go, the zoo has collections you cannot find anywhere else in the United States. It houses the biggest collection of intriguing swamp wallabies to be found in the entirety of North America, not to mention the last living family of Barbary Apes.

The zoo contains Mowar, an Indo Chinese tiger who is one of a mere seventy held in captivity. There are Canadian River otters, as well as a fossa couple. Fossas are the biggest predators you can find on Madagascar. They are a very rare species – but then, the Nevada Zoological and Botanical Park has no less than forty endangered species on the property.

In addition, Alligator Pathway, which is a large exhibit on ancient alligators, is a huge draw, as is the reptile exhibit. There, you can find an eyelash viper, a very rare viper from Belize. The Mojave green is also there – it is the most lethal rattlesnake currently known.

Delta’s Darin Vlogs Vegas

Posted by SaC on 14th July 2011

Darin grew up in Vegas, but still focuses mainly on the tourist highlights and the Las Vegas Strip. Nothing wrong with the Strip obviously. The Monorail system IS a great thing for tourists, and I prefer it way over taking the I-15.

I disagree on The Forum Shops being perfect for shopping – but they do have Roku Sushi! :)

With more than one hundred hands on and interactive exhibits, the Lied Discovery Children’s museum is a huge draw to people who live in Las Vegas and to those millions of people who visit the city of lights every year. The museum opened in 1990 and since that time, it has revealed strongly that it is a rich resource for the community.
